Smoked Duck Twilight Cooking Class in Ubud

Master Bali’s most iconic dish as the sun sets over Ubud

Detail

Sunday – Twilight Smoked Duck

Bebek betutu, Balinese smoked duck, is one of the most celebrated dishes in all of Indonesian cuisine. Traditionally prepared for ceremonies and special occasions, this extraordinary dish requires patience, skill and an intimate knowledge of Balinese spices.
At Casa Luna Cooking School, we dedicate an entire evening to it.

As the afternoon light fades over Ubud, you’ll gather at the school and begin preparing bebek betutu from scratch, grinding the intricate spice paste by hand, wrapping the duck in banana leaves and learning the traditional techniques that make this dish so extraordinary. It is an intimate, atmospheric evening unlike anything else in Ubud.

The class ends at a candlelit shared table where you enjoy everything you’ve cooked together.
